Do you have a purpose to blog?
Today post I would like to tell you my reasons of blogging, what I think about blogging and how you start your own blog.
There are several bloggers on different platforms in different categories (I’m not sure if that is how you call it “categories”). And I’m sure everyone blogs for one or more reasons. I, myself, ask why I blog sometimes. First, let’s take a close look at what blog is all about…
“A meandering, blatantly uninteresting online diary that gives the author the illusion that people are interested in their stupid, pathetic life” – Urban Dictionary
Why do I blog?
But now we have turned it into an interesting online platform where people can share experiences, reviews, etc. I first started my blog like almost 10 years ago on Yahoo. Oh, it was definitely my diary to which I shared so much about my pathetic life and I didn’t care who read my blog back then. Over time, I went on a different social platform (which is WordPress). It was in 2010. Here, I really started blogging aiming to share with people around me. I write because I like it, and I want to share what cool experiences I have. At first it was hard to find my own voice and in which direction I wanted to go for. But till I know what I really want, which I just simply love to share my experiences and knowing that someone out there might be inspired or like what I write really make me happy.
That’s also what I think about blogging. It’s simply sharing and inspiring. As long as you like what you write, you feel comfortable with it. Some people got the wrong idea of blogging. Especially some out there think it’s a good way of making money or be popular. It’s totally a real wrong idea. If money is your goal for blogging, I am not sure how long you can stay.
How to start a blog?
Shortly, just go to a website like tumblr, wordpress, blogspot, etc. and write. It takes time to get your first post read, it takes time to have your first follower. If you consider to start your own blog, make sure you do it because you like it. You write for the joy you have from it not the benefits you could get from it (accept if it’s happiness). Find your own voice by finding your own hobbies. Like, I like cooking so I share recipes, I like travelling and eating so I share my travel experiences and the restaurants I visit… And keep writing with an easy-looking contents, put emotions in it if you like. People care to read it because they like your voice of writing and that’s when they follow you.
Blogging, to me, is such a great joy. It might be a great place to express yourself best. I would really recommend people to have their own blogs. Take a little time to think, a little time to write and a little time to read it over and over again…
Great post. I completly agree with you. Too many see blogging as a way to make (quick) money. It is refreshing to read someone sharing the same blogging goals : sharing with people. Thank you for this post.
Thank you!!

Yes that the one 🙂 It might have gone to spam.
I like the fact you write because you like it, it shows that you actually enjoy what you do rather than trying to churn out blog after blog, you do it for the love which then gives great content rather than a rushed piece.
🙂
