With a wide range of coffee beans from different part of the world – Guatemala, Brazil, India, Australia – and serving coffee in a café old cinema theme based, Lauri has stood out from many other cafés in town. It is not in the Quadrate but located in a very cool area which is just few minutes walk from Wasserturm.
The coffee might not be amazing but it is the best one in Mannheim. Probably giving a plus for the owner who is very friendly and open to share with you all about his coffee experience.

The location might make you lazy to come over but is it worth to go? 100%! This are is believed to be the coming youngster hang in the future in Mannheim. Café NORD has a chic interior that is designed based on the owner’s taste as well as standing for who she is. This touch makes the place more personal and being taken care of with love.
Café NORD offers several craft beers that you might be soaked in sooner than you think even if you are not a fan of beer. In fact, it is the only place that sells craft beer in Mannheim. It is definitely a MUST-VISIT place!

It might not be in a walking distance from the city centre but it is a cool place to check out. It is part of Speicher 7 Hotel and just opened about a year ago. The design inside is LOVE and it serves drinks in style. In summer days, the terrace is open in the Hawaiian theme and has an overlook of Ludwigshafen – the city next by. It also offers tapas for those hungry ones.
You know what you might get surprised of? There is this myth that coffee in bars is most of the time terrible. Somehow, in Speicher 7, don’t be afraid of ordering a coffee because it tastes not bad at all.
Memoires d’ Indochine

Probably the finest Asian restaurant in town! Memoires d’Indochine offers the taste of Vietnamese and Laos cuisines without overwhelm the westernised taste as well as the strong flavour of Asian cuisine. Probably you would love the menu here even if you are Caucasian or Asian because they do know how to make the best out of two cultures. Any dish would satisfy you.
The plus point: very calming atmosphere! This place is filled up very quickly during both lunch and dinner. If you want to be seated during that time, you should reserve in advance.
